This medicine should not be used by pregnant women in the early three months of pregnancy or women who may become pregnant. Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication should also not take it. Care should be taken when administering this medication to patients with impaired liver function or a history of liver disease. Rarely, while taking this medication, symptoms similar to cystitis, such as frequent urination, dysuria, and hematuria may appear; if these symptoms occur, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor. As there may be liver function abnormalities, it is necessary to undergo regular liver function tests, and if abnormalities are found, actions such as reducing or temporarily stopping the medication may be required. Gastrointestinal side effects such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may occur, so caution should be exercised when these symptoms arise. Blood-related side effects such as anemia or decreased white blood cells and platelets may occur, so blood tests should be conducted to confirm the condition and the medication can be stopped if abnormalities are present. Neurological symptoms such as headache, dizziness, and drowsiness may rarely occur; therefore, caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. If allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, or urticaria occur, the medication should be stopped immediately. Unlike bronchodilators or steroids, this medication does not quickly relieve acute symptoms, so patients should be sufficiently informed about this. If a major attack occurs in a bronchial asthma patient, a separate bronchodilator or steroid should be used. It is advisable to regularly check white blood cell count and eosinophil ratio through blood tests while taking this medication and carefully monitor if eosinophils increase. For patients undergoing long-term steroid treatment, when reducing the steroid dose using this medication, it should be done gradually, paying attention to adrenal function. Caution is needed when stopping this medication after dose reduction, as the original condition may reappear. Seasonal allergy patients should start this medication just before the onset of symptoms and continue taking it throughout the duration of symptoms. If it is ineffective, unnecessary prolonged use should be avoided. This medication may alter blood coagulation abilities when used with anticoagulants such as warfarin, so regular testing is necessary. Due to the risk of skeletal abnormalities in the fetus, it should not be used, especially in the early stages of pregnancy, and it is safer for breastfeeding women to stop breastfeeding. The elderly may experience side effects more easily due to decreased bodily function, so dosage adjustments and caution are needed. Taking this medication before allergy tests can affect test results, so it is advisable not to take it before the examination.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
