This drug is used for the treatment of various forms of seizures in children aged 10 years and older and adults. It is effective as both monotherapy and adjunctive therapy for complex partial seizures and simple and mixed absence seizures. It is also used for migraine prevention, but is not recommended for the treatment of acute migraine. It helps with the treatment of acute mania and mixed episodes associated with bipolar disorder, whether or not accompanied by psychotic features. However, for long-term use exceeding 3 weeks for mania, continuous monitoring of the patient's condition is necessary. This drug contributes to the improvement of symptoms in patients by being utilized for seizure management, migraine prevention, and the treatment of mania.
