Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. First, individuals who have had an allergic reaction to this drug or any of its components should not take it. Additionally, patients with symptoms of orthostatic hypotension, severe liver dysfunction, or pregnant women, or those who might become pregnant should not take this medication. The drug should be used cautiously in patients with severely impaired kidney function, the elderly, and those taking specific medications. Particularly, those taking antihypertensives, PDE5 inhibitors, CYP3A4 inhibitors, or alpha-1 blockers should be monitored closely due to an increased risk of side effects. During treatment, symptoms such as dizziness, blood pressure reduction, headache, and drowsiness may occur, so caution should be exercised when driving or working at heights. If severe dizziness or loss of consciousness occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare provider. Allergic reactions may cause rash, itching, hives, etc.; if such symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, constipation, and diarrhea have also been reported. There may be liver function abnormalities or jaundice symptoms, so regular liver function tests are necessary, and any unusual symptoms should be reported to a healthcare provider. This medication may rarely cause a prolonged erection (priapism), and if this occurs, immediate treatment is necessary. Particularly, patients scheduled for cataract or glaucoma surgery should inform their physician about taking this medication due to the risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS). This medication is not indicated for children or women; safety and efficacy have not been established. When taking this medication, swallow the capsule whole; do not chew or open the capsule. Chewing or opening the capsule can alter the drug's efficacy. Overdosing can lead to dangerously low blood pressure, so the prescribed dosage must be adhered to. This medication may interact with other drugs, so any other medications being taken must be disclosed to a healthcare provider. Finally, keep this medication out of reach of children and avoid transferring it to other containers.
