Relief of allergic rhinitis, skin symptoms (such as urticaria and eczema), and bronchial asthma
This medication is used for respiratory allergic diseases such as bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis. It is also effective for treating various skin diseases such as hives, eczema, dermatitis, itching, itchy rash, and common psoriasis accompanied by itching. It helps alleviate the symptoms of these conditions and reduce discomfort for patients.
1. Asthma, urticaria, eczema/dermatitis, pruritus, prurigo, and pruritic psoriasis Adults: Administer 20 mg of epinastine hydrochloride orally once daily. Adjust the dose as appropriate according to symptoms. 2. Allergic rhinitis Adults: Administer 10~20 mg of this drug orally once daily. Adjust the dose as appropriate according to symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with allergic reactions to this drug or its components. It also contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with liver disease or a history of liver disease should use this medication cautiously, as there is a possibility of worsening liver function. If any rash, hives, swelling of the face or extremities, itching, etc., occur during use, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. This medication can cause sedation, headache, dizziness, insomnia, and nightmares; therefore, caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation may occur, and if symptoms worsen, medical advice should be sought. If liver dysfunction is suspected, liver function tests should be conducted to monitor the condition, and if abnormalities are found, medication should be discontinued. Rarely, this medication may affect kidney function, so if symptoms like proteinuria occur, careful monitoring is needed. If symptoms such as frequent urination, hematuria, or cystitis occur, notify a healthcare professional immediately. Palpitations may be felt, so attention should be paid if these symptoms appear. Rarely, respiratory symptoms such as difficulty breathing or nasal congestion may occur; if abnormal symptoms arise, immediate consultation is necessary. Blood-related abnormalities, such as thrombocytopenia or increased white blood cells, may occur, necessitating regular blood tests. In women, symptoms such as gynecomastia or menstrual irregularities may rarely occur, and any such changes should be reported. This medication is not a quick-relief medication for asthma attacks, so it should be used with appropriate explanations for asthma patients. Patients receiving long-term steroid therapy should gradually adjust their steroid doses while using this medication. This medication may cause drowsiness, so caution is needed when driving or operating dangerous machinery. If no effect is observed, long-term use should be avoided. Seasonal allergy sufferers are advised to start taking this medication just before the season when symptoms frequently occur and to continue taking it throughout the duration of symptoms. This medication is known not to enhance sedation effects when used with other sedatives or alcohol, but experience with concomitant use is limited. There is a low likelihood of interaction with other drugs metabolized in the liver, and it does not significantly affect drug metabolism. Safety during pregnancy has not been established, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use caution after consulting a doctor. Women who are breastfeeding should avoid administering this medication, as it can be transmitted through breast milk, or stop breastfeeding. The safety of this medication for children, newborns, and infants has not been sufficiently confirmed, so caution is needed for use. Elderly patients may have decreased liver and kidney function, so they should be monitored frequently for adverse reactions and dosage adjustments should be made as necessary. In case of overdose, cardiac abnormalities such as arrhythmias may occur; if suspected, immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and not transferred to another container to maintain safety and quality. When taking the medicine, the blood concentration may vary depending on whether it is taken before or after meals; therefore, it is recommended to take it after meals for allergies or skin diseases and before bedtime for asthma or allergic rhinitis.
