Treatment of fungal infections of the skin and nails, mucosal and corneal fungal infections, and systemic fungal infections
This medication is used to treat various fungal infections such as candidiasis, tinea versicolor, tinea corporis (body ringworm), tinea cruris (groin ringworm), tinea manuum (hand ringworm), tinea pedis (athlete's foot), oral candidiasis, fungal keratitis, and onychomycosis. It is also effective against systemic fungal infections such as aspergillosis, candidiasis, cryptococcosis (including meningitis), and paracoccidioidomycosis. The liquid form is particularly used for the treatment of oral and esophageal candidiasis in HIV-positive patients or immunocompromised individuals, and for the prevention of invasive fungal infections in patients with hematologic malignancies or those undergoing bone marrow transplantation. This treatment effectively improves fungal infections.
