Treatment of respiratory and urogenital infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, cystitis, gonorrhea, etc.)
This medicine is effective for various infectious diseases caused by different types of bacteria. It is used for respiratory infections such as acute and chronic bronchitis, lobar pneumonia, empyema, lung abscess, tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media. It is also effective for urogenital infections such as cystitis, urethritis, and pyelonephritis. It is used in the treatment of pelvic infections and sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea, and is applied to skin and soft tissue infections such as boils, abscesses, and soft tissue infections. It is helpful in the treatment of osteomyelitis and dental infections. It is used to treat various diseases with broad antibacterial activity against diverse bacteria.
For adults with severe infections and respiratory infections, administer 2 tablets orally, twice daily at 12-hour intervals.
This medicine should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to beta-lactam antibiotics, including penicillins and cephalosporins. Patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia should be careful as there is an increased risk of rash. In patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice, recurrence risks may exist, so usage should be avoided or administered cautiously. Caution must be exercised in administering to patients with liver impairment, as liver function may worsen, and patients with moderate to severe renal impairment may experience increased blood concentration, requiring dosing interval adjustments. Patients with allergic tendencies or a history of bronchial asthma, rash, urticaria, etc. should use this medicine cautiously as they may have an increased risk of adverse reactions. Patients who have difficulty swallowing or elderly patients with poor nutritional status, as well as those with gastrointestinal disorders, should be cautious, as drug absorption may not be sufficient. Gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur when taking this medicine, and in severe cases, pseudomembranous colitis or acute pancreatitis may develop, so consultation with a physician is required if symptoms appear. Liver function abnormalities may also occur, so regular liver function tests are advisable during long-term use. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, urticaria, and anaphylaxis may occur, so if these symptoms appear, discontinue the medication immediately and follow the physician's instructions. Hematologic abnormalities such as leukopenia and thrombocytopenia have been reported infrequently, and blood tests may be necessary. Neurological symptoms such as anxiety, confusion, and seizures may arise, so notify your physician if any neurological symptoms occur. For women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, it is particularly safe to avoid using this medication during the first three months of pregnancy, and caution is advised during breastfeeding as the drug may be transmitted through breast milk, potentially causing adverse reactions in the infant. This medication is recommended only for children over 12 years or weighing more than 40 kg, and elderly patients should be careful with dosage and intervals due to the increased risk of side effects from kidney and liver function decline. There may be interactions with other medications, so especially if taking anticoagulants, anti-inflammatory drugs, or oral contraceptives, it is essential to consult with a physician or pharmacist. In the case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal failure, seizures, and hypersensitivity shock may develop, so immediate medical attention is required.
