Precautions

This medication should not be used in children under 6 years old. This medication contains lactose, so individuals with a genetic disease that prevents lactose digestion should not take it. This medication also contains the dye Yellow No. 5; individuals allergic or sensitive to this component should use it with caution. While taking this medication, neurological symptoms such as drowsiness, lethargy, tingling of hands and feet, or dizziness may occur. Gastrointestinal side effects may include dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, constipation, and diarrhea. Rarely, symptoms like facial flushing or shortness of breath may also appear. Dryness of the nose may also be experienced. It may affect liver function, and liver enzyme levels can increase, so caution is necessary. If any hypersensitivity reactions, such as skin rashes, occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Urological symptoms, such as difficulty urinating, hematuria, or frequent urination, may also occur rarely. There may be cases of increased white blood cells in blood tests, so any unusual symptoms should be reported. Symptoms like edema or menstrual irregularities may also be experienced. This medication may cause drowsiness, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery while on it. If receiving long-term steroid treatment, the steroid dosage should be reduced gradually when using this medication. It should be understood that this medication does not rapidly relieve acute attacks in patients with bronchial asthma. For patients with seasonal allergies, it is recommended to start taking it before symptoms worsen and to continue taking it until symptoms subside. Caution should be taken as drowsiness may increase when taken with alcohol. Also, caution is needed when taken with a medication called cimetidine. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication after thoroughly considering its risks and benefits. Breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication if possible, and if it must be taken, breastfeeding should be stopped. This medication has not been sufficiently confirmed safe for infants, newborns, and young children, so caution is necessary when using it. Elderly patients may have reduced physical functions, so careful attention should be paid to dosage adjustment. During use, a bitter taste of the medication may be felt, which should be noted. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and it is recommended not to transfer it to another container to maintain quality.
