Precautions

This drug should not be administered to women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. It is also not safe to use in patients with severely impaired cardiac function or those with acute myocardial infarction and unstable angina. Patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction should use this drug cautiously and elderly patients also require careful consideration due to the risk of excessive blood pressure lowering. This drug should be avoided in individuals with allergies to lactose or certain colorants included in the formulation. When first taking this medication or increasing the dose, symptoms such as flushing of the face, headache, palpitations, dizziness, and fatigue may occur. Rarely, side effects such as excessively low blood pressure, edema, skin rash, muscle pain, gastrointestinal discomfort, and abnormal liver function may occur; if any unusual symptoms arise, consult a doctor immediately. Suddenly stopping this medication can worsen symptoms, so the dosage should be gradually decreased according to the doctor's instructions. If blood pressure drops too low, adjustments or discontinuation of the medication may also be necessary. Furthermore, since this drug is metabolized by a specific liver enzyme (CYP3A4), caution is needed when taken with other drugs that inhibit or activate this enzyme as it can alter drug concentrations. It is advisable to avoid taking it with grapefruit juice, as it can increase drug concentrations. It is preferable that pregnant or breastfeeding women do not use this drug, and safety for pediatric use has not been established. The elderly should start with a lower dose and take it under observation of their condition. In case of overdose, serious cardiovascular issues and neurological symptoms may occur, requiring immediate emergency care and appropriate treatment as directed by healthcare professionals. Finally, dizziness or fatigue may occur while taking this medication, so caution is advised when driving or operating hazardous machinery.
