Dosage and Administration

Administer 300 mg of Erdosteine orally 2 to 3 times a day. Do not administer for more than 10 consecutive days when treating acute respiratory diseases.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in patients with allergies to this drug or its components. Patients with liver cirrhosis or certain enzyme deficiencies should not use this drug as its metabolites may interfere with metabolic processes in the body. Patients with peptic ulcers or severe renal and hepatic impairment should also avoid using this medication. For patients with mild to moderate liver impairment, care should be taken not to exceed a dose of 300 mg per day. Patients with diabetes or on low-calorie diets should use caution when using the syrup form of this drug. This drug contains the dye Yellow No. 5 (Tartrazine), so individuals allergic to this dye should exercise caution. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as sweating, dizziness, and facial flushing may occur, so the prescribed dosage should be adhered to. Symptoms such as headache, cold symptoms, difficulty breathing, taste disturbances, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and skin rash may arise, and if any unusual symptoms occur, consultation with a doctor is advised. When used with cough medicine, it may increase the difficulty of phlegm expulsion and raise the risk of bronchial infections, so caution is necessary. It is safer for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as those who are breastfeeding, not to use this medication. This drug should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided as it can affect product quality.
