Aseraz Capsule (Acebrophylline)

Adult dose

Adults: Administer 100 mg of acebrophylline orally twice daily.

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, individuals who are allergic to this medication, its ingredients, or other similar drugs should not take it. Additionally, patients with acute myocardial infarction, very low blood pressure, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, and breastfeeding women should avoid this medication. Since this medication contains lactose, patients with genetic disorders that affect lactose breakdown should also refrain from using it. Patients with a history of heart disease or epilepsy, elderly individuals, children, pregnant women, or women who may become pregnant should use this medication with special caution. This medication may cause gastrointestinal discomfort and, rarely, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Furthermore, if allergic reactions such as rash, itching, or difficulty breathing occur, dosing should be stopped immediately. This medication can become toxic if blood levels are too high, so patients with compromised liver or kidney function may require dose adjustments. There may be interactions when taken with other medications, so it is essential to consult a physician or pharmacist if taking other medications. Pregnancy should generally be avoided unless in special cases, and it is also safest not to take this medication while breastfeeding. Elderly individuals and children should take this medication with dose adjustments or careful supervision. In case of overdose, vomiting should be induced or appropriate treatment sought, and if severe symptoms occur, a healthcare facility should be visited immediately. Lastly, this medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.
