Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to cephalosporins. Patients with a history of allergy to penicillin or other medications should use this medication with caution, especially patients with decreased kidney function should meticulously check their renal status before and after treatment. Patients with impaired kidney function should have their dosage adjusted, and patients with gastrointestinal disease should also exercise caution. When taking this medication, gastrointestinal issues such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, as well as liver dysfunction, rashes, and allergic reactions may occur, and if these symptoms arise, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary. Central nervous system symptoms such as dizziness, headache, and drowsiness have been reported rarely, and seizures may occur occasionally, so caution is required. Blood tests may show decreased white blood cell counts or elevated renal function markers, so regular testing is essential. Due to the possibility of developing antibiotic resistance with prolonged use, this medication should only be taken for the period prescribed by a healthcare professional, and appropriate action should be taken if another infection occurs during treatment. If any allergic reactions occur, the medication should be immediately discontinued and emergency treatment sought. If diarrhea occurs after taking antibiotics, treatment should be given with consideration for the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis. Caution should be taken when taken together with other cephalosporins or certain diuretics, as they may burden the kidneys. During pregnancy, this medication should only be used when necessary, and in nursing mothers, it should be used cautiously considering its potential impact on the infant. It is advisable not to use this medication in infants under 6 months of age due to lack of safety data. Elderly patients may require dosage adjustments due to decreased kidney function. This medication may affect the results of certain tests, so it is important to inform medical personnel prior to testing. In the case of overdose, since it is excreted through the kidneys, it can be removed by hemodialysis if renal function is impaired.
