How to take

Adult dose

For adults with severe infections and respiratory infections, take 2 tablets orally, twice a day every 12 hours. Dosage may be reduced based on renal function. However, for severely renal impaired patients (creatinine clearance of less than 30 mL/min), this medication should not be administered.

Precautions

This medication should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to beta-lactam antibiotics. Caution is especially needed for those with a history of allergies to penicillin or cephalosporin drugs. Patients with concurrent viral diseases such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphoblastic leukemia may experience more frequent rashes, and its use should be avoided. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice may experience recurrence of symptoms if they take this medication, so it is advisable not to use it. This drug contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or genetic metabolic disorders should not take it. Patients with poor liver function or moderate to severe renal impairment should use this medication cautiously, adjusting the dosing interval, as drug concentration may increase. Patients with allergic tendencies, or those prone to asthma, skin rashes, or hives, should be cautious as well. Patients unable to ingest orally, the elderly, or those in poor overall condition are at risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, so monitoring is necessary. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and in severe cases, pseudomembranous colitis may occur, necessitating immediate discontinuation of the drug upon symptom onset. Rare liver disturbances such as elevated liver enzymes, hepatitis, or cholestatic jaundice may occur, particularly in the elderly and males. Severe skin reactions such as rashes, hives, and in serious cases, Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, prompting immediate discontinuation of the medication and medical consultation if such symptoms appear. Blood abnormalities, including leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia, have been reported infrequently and may require caution due to a tendency for bleeding. CNS symptoms such as anxiety, confusion, and seizures may occur rarely, and if abnormal symptoms arise, immediate reporting is necessary. Patients with reduced kidney function may experience acute renal failure or nephritis, requiring regular check-ups. This drug may interact with other medications, so especially if taking anticoagulants, anti-inflammatories, or immunosuppressants, consulting with a physician or pharmacist is essential. Pregnant or breastfeeding women need to consider the effects on the fetus or infant when using this drug and should avoid use during the first 3 months of pregnancy. There is limited experience in using this drug in children, especially those under 12 years old or weighing less than 40 kg, and it is not recommended. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more easily due to reduced body function, necessitating careful monitoring and adjustment of dosages and intervals. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal failure, seizures, and hypersensitivity shock may appear, requiring immediate cessation of the medication and appropriate emergency interventions. This medication should be kept in a sealed container to prevent moisture and stored in a cool, dry place below 25 degrees Celsius to maintain its effectiveness over time.
