Treatment of musculoskeletal diseases (painful muscle spasm) and neurological disorders (spastic paralysis)
This medication helps in the treatment of painful muscle spasms caused by musculoskeletal disorders, such as cervical spondylosis, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain. Additionally, it is used to relieve muscle stiffness associated with neurological disorders such as spastic paralysis, cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, sequelae after surgery or trauma, and various central nervous system diseases like cerebral palsy. It effectively improves muscle spasms and stiffness, contributing to pain relief and improved mobility in patients.
Eperisone Hydrochloride: 50 mg orally, three times a day after meals. Adjust dosage according to age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used by certain patients. Firstly, individuals with an allergy to this medication or suffering from myasthenia gravis should not take this medication. Also, since it contains lactose, individuals with lactose intolerance or deficiency of lactase, as well as those with hereditary issues like glucose-galactose malabsorption should not use this medication. When using this medication, caution is necessary in several situations. Individuals with a history of hypersensitivity to medications should use this medicine with caution, and those with liver function issues should be particularly careful as it may worsen liver function. Although rare, this medication can cause various side effects. For instance, severe allergic reactions like shock can occur; if symptoms appear, the administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be received. Liver function test values may rise, and kidney function may be affected, leading to proteinuria or increased blood test values, so the patient's condition should be carefully monitored. Allergic symptoms such as anemia, rash, and itching may also appear. Additionally, neurological symptoms like insomnia, drowsiness, headache, numbness in limbs, body stiffness or tremors may occur. Gastrointestinal issues such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, constipation, and diarrhea may arise. There may also be urinary issues, such as difficulty urinating or a feeling of residual urine. Systemically, symptoms such as lethargy, dizziness, and decreased muscle tone can occur, and rarely symptoms like facial flushing or excessive sweating may also appear. Very rarely, serious skin conditions such as toxic epidermal necrolysis syndrome or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, so if symptoms like fever, skin rash, blisters, itching, conjunctival injection, or stomatitis appear, medication should be discontinued immediately and a hospital visit is necessary. While taking this medication, symptoms like lethargy, dizziness, or drowsiness may occur, and if these symptoms appear, it may be necessary to reduce or discontinue the dosage. Additionally, drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur, so driving or operating dangerous machinery should be avoided. When taken with similar medications or certain muscle relaxants, visual disturbances have been reported, so caution is needed when taken together. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been adequately established; thus, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should use it only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. In nursing mothers, it is advisable to avoid taking this medication, and in urgent cases, it is preferable to discontinue breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been sufficiently established; therefore, caution is recommended. In older adults, physical functions may be decreased, requiring meticulous management and possibly reduced dosages.
Shock (severe allergic reaction), anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction), angioedema (severe swelling), toxic epidermal necrolysis and mucocutaneous/ocular syndrome (severe skin reaction), severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, liver dysfunction (increased ALT, AST, ALP), liver problems (risk of jaundice)

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container that does not allow air to pass through, at a temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius (room temperature). Storing it this way will help maintain the effectiveness of the medication for a longer period.
