Effect on controlling hypertension and preventing cardiovascular complications
This medication is used to lower blood pressure and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications.
The initial dose is bisoprolol fumarate/hydrochlorothiazide 2.5/6.25 mg once daily. The dosage can be adjusted according to the patient's response at intervals of 14 days, with a maximum daily dose of bisoprolol fumarate/hydrochlorothiazide of 20/12.5 mg. When discontinuing treatment, the dose should be gradually reduced over a period of more than 2 weeks depending on the patient's condition.

This medication is generally not recommended for patients with bronchospastic lung disease. However, it can be administered cautiously at low doses to patients who do not respond to other treatments due to its high beta-1 selectivity, in conjunction with bronchodilators. Patients with psoriasis or a history of psoriasis should use this medication with caution due to the potential for increased allergic reactions. Patients with hyperthyroidism should not discontinue abruptly as this medication can mask symptoms, and symptoms may worsen upon discontinuation. This medication should not be stopped suddenly and dosage should be tapered off gradually under medical supervision. It should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or those with certain heart diseases, severe hypotension, severe liver or kidney disorders, or heart failure. It is safer not to use in pregnant women or women of childbearing age, and pediatric patients. This medication contains lactose, and should not be taken by patients with lactose intolerance. Patients using this medication for an extended period should have regular assessments of heart function, blood pressure, liver, and kidney function. Diabetic patients should carefully manage blood sugar levels as symptoms of hypoglycemia may be concealed. Prior to surgery, inform healthcare providers about the use of this medication, and it is advisable to discontinue at least 48 hours before surgery. This medication may increase the risk of skin cancer; therefore, limit sun exposure and regularly monitor skin condition. In case of overdose, symptoms such as bradycardia, hypotension, bronchospasm, heart failure, and hypoglycemia may occur, necessitating immediate medical attention. Interactions with other drugs may occur, especially caution is required when used in combination with antihypertensives, calcium channel blockers, and antiarrhythmic medications. If breastfeeding, it is advised to avoid this medication or to discontinue breastfeeding.

This medication may be sensitive to air or humidity, so it should be stored in a tightly closed container. It is recommended to maintain a storage temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius to ensure the medication's efficacy.
