Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients with hypersensitivity to specific ingredients. Particularly, patients with a history of allergy to penicillin antibiotics may experience severe allergic reactions when taking this medication. Patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at increased risk of developing skin rashes when taking this medication and should be cautious. Patients with previous liver dysfunction may also experience a recurrence of liver impairment when using this medication, so caution is needed. Patients with poor liver function or those with moderate to severe kidney impairment may experience elevated blood concentrations of this medication, so dosing intervals should be adjusted or careful use is required. Patients with a propensity for allergies, elderly individuals, and those in poor general health should also be cautious due to a higher risk of side effects. This medication can affect the digestive system and may cause symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and particularly, nausea frequently occurs with high-dose usage. To reduce gastrointestinal side effects, it is advisable to take it with food. Symptoms of liver dysfunction may also occur and these are particularly more frequent in men over 60 years or with long-term use, so regular liver function tests are necessary. Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as severe skin rashes, anaphylaxis, and angioedema may appear, and if these symptoms occur, medication should be discontinued immediately and medical attention should be sought. This medication can also affect the blood, causing abnormalities such as leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia, thus regular blood tests should be carried out. It may affect the central nervous system and, rarely, symptoms such as anxiety, confusion, and seizures may occur. Patients with severely reduced kidney function may experience acute renal failure, which requires caution. This medication can induce serious intestinal inflammation, such as pseudomembranous colitis, which can occur during antibiotic usage, so if abdominal pain or severe diarrhea occurs, medication should be stopped immediately and a physician consulted. Pregnant women are advised to avoid this medication during the first three months, and caution is advised during breastfeeding as it may cause side effects in infants. Use is not recommended in children under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg due to limited experience. Elderly individuals should be cautious as reduced bodily functions can lead to a higher tendency for bleeding or side effects, necessitating careful adjustment of dosage and intervals. This medication can interact with other drugs, so it is essential to consult with a physician or pharmacist if taking other medications. In case of overdose, symptoms such as gastrointestinal disturbances, rashes, drowsiness, and seizures may occur, so medication should be discontinued immediately, and medical help should be sought. This medication should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and if any abnormal symptoms appear during use, immediate consultation with a specialist is necessary.
