Precautions

This medication works by binding to specific proteins and inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby killing bacteria. Patients who have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock from this medication or similar antibiotics should not be administered this drug. Additionally, patients with a history of allergy to penicillin antibiotics or a family history of asthma, rashes, or hives should be cautious when using this medication. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, those unable to take the medication orally, elderly patients, and patients in poor general condition should be closely monitored during treatment as they may show signs of vitamin K deficiency. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, particularly colitis, should also be administered with caution. Although rare, this medication may cause serious allergic reactions or skin conditions, blood abnormalities, liver and kidney dysfunction, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory disorders, and central nervous system disturbances. If any unusual symptoms occur, the use of this drug should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be sought. To prevent the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, it is essential to check the susceptibility of the infecting bacteria and use this medication only for the minimum required period. When using this medication, it is essential to conduct a thorough medical history to check for any prior allergic reactions and consider the potential for co-infection with resistant bacteria when selecting an appropriate treatment method. This drug may interact with other medications, particularly probenecid, nephrotoxic medications, anticoagulants, oral contraceptives, and certain antibiotics, so caution is advised. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication only when the benefits outweigh the risks, and nursing mothers should also use it with caution. Safety for newborns, especially infants under one month old, has not been established, so caution should be exercised in its use. Elderly patients may have an increased risk of bleeding due to decreased bodily functions and vitamin K deficiency, so dosage and administration interval should be adjusted and their conditions should be closely monitored. This medication may affect the results of urine or blood tests, so caution should be exercised in interpreting test results.
