Precautions

This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this drug, penicillin, or cephalosporin antibiotics. Particularly, caution is required for patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, as the risk of rash is high. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice should also use this drug with caution. Patients with liver disease or impaired kidney function may need to adjust the dosing interval to prevent the medication from remaining in the body for too long, increasing the risk of side effects. Individuals with allergies, the elderly, and patients with gastrointestinal disorders should take caution due to potential vitamin K deficiency or absorption issues. This drug may cause gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and in rare cases, serious side effects like pseudomembranous colitis and acute pancreatitis may occur. Symptoms of liver dysfunction, skin rash, itching, and severe allergic reactions have also been reported; if these symptoms occur, the medication should be stopped immediately, and the patient should seek medical attention. Blood tests may rarely show leukopenia or thrombocytopenia, so caution is advised. Centrally mediated symptoms such as anxiety, drowsiness, and seizures may rarely occur, and patients with reduced kidney function are at risk for acute renal failure. This medication may disrupt intestinal bacterial balance, leading to occurrences of candidiasis or oral mucositis. Additionally, deficiencies in vitamins K and B may rarely present, so nutritional status should be managed carefully. Regular monitoring of kidney function, liver function, and hematopoietic function is necessary when this medication is used for an extended period. Women who are pregnant or nursing should use this drug cautiously under the guidance of a physician, as its use may affect the fetus or infant. Safety for children, particularly infants under 2 months, has not been established, so caution is advised in use. Elderly patients are at higher risk of side effects due to decreased body function; therefore, dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted, and their condition closely monitored. This drug may interact with other medications, especially anticoagulants, anti-inflammatories, and oral contraceptives, so patients should discuss this with their doctor or pharmacist. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms and neurological abnormalities may occur, so immediate medical attention is required. Before use, the medication should be shaken well and stored in the refrigerator after preparation, to be used within 7 days. When using this medication, it is important to administer it only for the necessary duration to prevent the occurrence of resistant bacteria, and to immediately inform medical staff of any adverse symptoms during treatment.
