Precautions

This medicine works by binding to specific proteins to inhibit bacterial cell wall synthesis, thus killing the bacteria. This medicine should not be used in patients who have experienced severe allergic reactions or shock from this medicine or similar antibiotics in the past. Moreover, patients allergic to penicillin antibiotics or those with allergic tendencies, severely impaired kidney function, elderly patients, or patients with gastrointestinal diseases should be particularly cautious when using this medicine. During the use of this medication, severe allergic reactions, skin disorders, blood abnormalities, liver or kidney function problems, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory problems, or central nervous system symptoms may occur, so it is necessary to consult medical personnel immediately if any symptoms arise. To prevent the occurrence of resistant bacteria, it is advisable to check the susceptibility of the infecting bacteria and use this medication only for the minimum necessary duration. When using this medicine, it is important to thoroughly check past allergic reactions and be cautious about interactions, especially when used with other antibiotics. Particularly, when used in conjunction with certain diuretics or drugs that may affect the kidneys, careful monitoring of kidney function is necessary. There is an increased risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulants, so blood coagulation status should be monitored regularly. The contraceptive effectiveness may be reduced when used with oral contraceptives, so it is advisable to use additional contraceptive methods. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication only when its benefits outweigh the risks, and nursing mothers should use it cautiously as it may affect the baby. Safety for newborns less than one month old has not been established, so use should be avoided. Elderly patients should be monitored closely for side effects as they may occur more easily due to declining physical function, with adjustments made to dosage and administration intervals as required. This medicine may affect the results of certain clinical tests, so this should be communicated to medical personnel during examinations.
