Bronpil Capsule (Acebrophylline)

Adult dose

Adults: Administer 100 mg of acebrophylline orally per dose 2 times daily.

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to patients who are allergic to this medication or its components, or who have hypersensitivity to other xanthine drugs, patients allergic to ambroxol, those with acute myocardial infarction, patients with hypotension, those with severe liver or kidney dysfunction, nursing mothers, and patients with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance. Additionally, it should be used with caution in patients with a history of heart disease, obesity, seizure disorders, peptic ulcers, hyperthyroidism, the elderly, children, hypertension, severe hypoxemia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and liver and kidney disorders, as well as in pregnant women or those who may become pregnant. When taking this medication, temporary symptoms such as nausea or dizziness may occur, and these symptoms will disappear if the medication is discontinued. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions may occur, such as dyspepsia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, skin rashes, or breathlessness; if these symptoms occur, use should be stopped immediately. If blood concentration becomes too high, toxicity may appear, so elderly patients or those with impaired liver or kidney functions, as well as alcoholics, should be particularly cautious. This medication may interact with other drugs, so care should be taken when used with certain antibiotics, diuretics, anticonvulsants, or cigarettes, and it is advisable not to use it concurrently with central nervous system stimulants or other xanthine drugs. It is generally recommended not to use it during pregnancy, except in special cases, and it is also safer for nursing mothers not to take this medication. Elderly patients may have reduced bodily functions, so dosages should be adjusted, and it should be used cautiously in children. In case of overdose, severe convulsions or arrhythmias may occur, requiring immediate hospital treatment. Finally, this medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided as it may negatively affect the quality.
