This medicine is used to relieve symptoms associated with allergies such as allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, dermatitis, and chronic urticaria.

How to take

Adult dose

For adults and children aged 12 years and older, administer 10mg of Ebastine orally once daily. Adjust dosage appropriately based on age and symptoms.

Child dose

For children aged 6-11 years, administer 5mg once daily.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose, so children or adolescents sensitive to lactose may experience adverse reactions like diarrhea; if symptoms occur, consult a doctor. Patients allergic to this medication, those with severely impaired liver function, and individuals with genetic lactose-related disorders should not take this medicine. Patients with liver function issues or a history of liver disorders should use this medication with caution, and those taking medications or having conditions that may affect heart rhythm should also be careful. Rare side effects may occur with this medication, including heart palpitations, drowsiness, nervousness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, elevated liver enzymes, and skin rashes; if unusual symptoms arise, notify a doctor immediately. It is safe to perform tasks requiring concentration, such as driving or operating dangerous machinery, only after adequately assessing one’s reaction to this medication. This medicine does not provide rapid relief for allergy symptoms, so it is not suitable for urgent allergic situations. Patients with seasonal allergies should begin taking this medication before symptoms appear and continue until symptoms resolve. For patients undergoing long-term steroid therapy, any reduction in steroid dosage with this medication should be done slowly under thorough observation by medical personnel. Taking this medication with other antihistamines may enhance its effects; concurrently using certain antibiotics or antifungals may increase drug concentration and the risk of side effects, so consult a doctor. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication with caution, as its safety has not been fully established; those breastfeeding should discontinue this medication before resuming nursing. It is advisable not to use this medication in children under 6 years of age, as safety has not been established. Do not take this medication before an allergy test, as it may influence test results. No specific toxic symptoms have been reported in case of overdose; however, vital signs, including heart condition, should be monitored closely, and appropriate treatment such as gastric lavage should be conducted if necessary.
