Precautions

This medication is in a glass ampoule injection form, so caution must be used when opening the container to avoid glass fragments mixing in. Extra care is especially needed when administering it to children and the elderly. This medication should be administered cautiously to patients with peptic ulcers or a history of them, patients suffering from heart disease, glaucoma patients, and those with known allergic reactions to this drug. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or diarrhea may occur upon administration, and cardiovascular abnormalities such as rapid heartbeat or palpitations may arise. Additionally, central nervous system symptoms such as insomnia, agitation, dizziness, pupil dilation, tinnitus, and anxiety may also occur. Special caution should be taken if there is a history of glaucoma, as symptoms may worsen. In case of overdose, the condition of patients with depression may worsen, so the single dose should not exceed 1 gram. This medication may interact with certain other medications; for example, combining it with central nervous system stimulants or some antidepressants can intensify side effects. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid prolonged use of this medication, as the ingredients can pass through the placenta and into breast milk. The elderly may have reduced bodily functions and should use the drug at a lower dose or with more caution. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, arrhythmias, seizures, and respiratory distress; in such cases, immediate hospital treatment with IV fluids and necessary medications should be sought. When injecting, adjust the injection speed slowly, use a small needle, avoid areas where nerves are present during intramuscular or subcutaneous injections, and alternate injection sites for safety. If severe pain occurs during injection or if blood flows back through the needle, the needle should be immediately removed and another area should be injected.
