This medication helps to prevent and manage asthma and is used to relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis.

How to take

Adult dose

The 4 mg granules of this medication can be taken orally as is or mixed with a small amount (about 5 mL) of soft food, breast milk, or porridge that is below room temperature. The packaging should not be opened until just before taking the medication, and after opening, it should be taken immediately (within 15 minutes) by mixing it into soft food, breast milk, or consumed in total. This medication can be taken regardless of meal time.

Precautions

This drug may cause significant neuropsychiatric adverse effects, so if symptoms such as restlessness, aggression, anxiety, depression, hallucinations, or suicidal thoughts occur during treatment, consult a doctor immediately. Patients with allergies to this medication or its components should not take it, and if an allergic reaction occurs, treatment should be stopped immediately and a physician should be consulted. Various adverse reactions, such as fatigue, headache, dyspepsia, cough, and rash, may occur while taking this medication, so if symptoms persist or worsen, notify medical staff. This medication is not a treatment for acute asthma attacks, so appropriate emergency medication should be used during acute symptoms, and it should not be suddenly replaced for other steroids. In cases of exercise-induced bronchospasm, do not treat with this drug alone, and use inhaled bronchodilators as directed by a physician. Patients with hypersensitivity to aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should avoid these medications while taking this drug, and must consult a physician as necessary. This medication may rarely induce vasculitis symptoms related to eosinophilia; therefore, if respiratory symptoms worsen or skin rashes occur, notify medical staff immediately. No specific interactions have been reported when taken with other medications; however, caution and careful monitoring by a physician are needed when taken with drugs that induce liver metabolism. It should only be taken during pregnancy when absolutely necessary, and use during breastfeeding should be considered carefully. It is advisable not to use this medication in infants under 6 months old, as safety and efficacy have not been established. In case of overdose, since there is no specific antidote, general treatment and symptom observation are necessary, and medical attention should be sought immediately if symptoms appear. This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be opened just before administration and taken immediately after opening; it should be stored out of reach of children. This medication should be taken consistently even when there are no asthma symptoms, and if symptoms worsen or emergencies occur, consult medical staff immediately.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, severe allergic reactions, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, severe skin reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory distress accompanied by cough and fever, respiratory problems, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
