Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Firstly, patients who have had an allergic reaction to this medication or any of its components should not take it. Patients with liver cirrhosis or cystathionine synthase deficiency should avoid taking this medication, as its metabolites can affect methionine metabolism. Patients with peptic ulcers are also advised against using this medication. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients with severely impaired kidney function or severe liver dysfunction. Patients with mild to moderate liver dysfunction should use this medication with caution, ensuring that the daily dosage does not exceed 300 mg. Diabetic patients or those on a low-calorie diet should be particularly cautious when using the syrup form of this medication. Overdosing on this medication can lead to symptoms such as excessive sweating, dizziness, facial flushing. Gastrointestinal symptoms like headaches, cold symptoms, breathing difficulties, taste disturbances, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and heartburn may also occur. Allergic skin reactions such as hives, red spots, and eczema have been reported.
