This medication should not be used by individuals allergic to this drug or to ephedrine or piperazine class drugs, those with severe hypertension or coronary artery disease, those taking certain antidepressants called monoamine oxidase inhibitors, or those with high eye pressure or problems with urine elimination. Particular caution is needed when using this drug in individuals with diabetes, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, arrhythmias, or impaired kidney or liver function.
