Summary

Main use
Treatment of primary pulmonary hypertension and improvement of symptoms of chronic arterial occlusive disease (e.g., ulcers and pain)
Who takes it
Adults
Adult dose
Improvement of ulcers, pain, and coldness associated with chronic arterial occlusive disease (such as Buerger's disease, arteriosclerosis obliterans, and diabetic peripheral angiopathy): Adults usually take 0.12mg (6 tablets) of beraprost sodium per day orally after meals, divided into 3 doses (2 tablets per dose). Primary pulmonary hypertension: 1) Adults usually begin by taking 0.06mg (3 tablets) of beraprost sodium per day orally after meals, divided into 3 doses (1 tablet per dose), and gradually increase the dose while carefully monitoring symptoms (adverse reactions). If the dose is increased, the frequency of administration should be 3-4 times daily, with a maximum dose of 0.18mg (9 tablets) per day. 2) Since patients vary in their tolerance to the medicine, begin administration of this product at a low dose. If the dose is increased, closely monitor the patient's condition. 3) Since this product is an oral formulation, it may be ineffective in patients with severe symptoms. If hemodynamic parameters and/or clinical symptoms do not improve sufficiently, provide appropriate treatment, such as switching to an injectable formulation or another treatment.
