Adult dose

○ Adults: Administer fenofibrate 200 mg orally once daily immediately after a meal. Fenofibrate must be administered in conjunction with dietary therapy. This medication may be less well absorbed on an empty stomach, so administer it immediately after a meal (except for the 145 mg formulation). ○ Elderly patients: Dose reduction is generally not necessary if renal function is not impaired. ○ Patients with renal impairment: Do not administer this medication to patients with moderate to severe renal impairment (serum creatinine level of 2.5 mg/dL or higher).

Child dose

○ Children: Clinical data on the use of this medication in children are not yet available.

This medication should not be used in patients with poor liver function. If liver dysfunction is present, the drug may be harmful to the body. It should also not be administered to patients with moderate to severe kidney dysfunction, as high serum creatinine levels can lead to muscle damage and worsening kidney function. It is safer for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and for breastfeeding women, to avoid using this medication, as it may pose risks to the fetus or newborn. Patients who have had an allergic reaction to this medication or its components should avoid administration. Patients with gallbladder problems or a history of gallstone formation should be cautious, as this medication may worsen gallstones. Patients who have previously become sensitive to sunlight while taking this medication or similar drugs should consult a doctor before use. This medication is not administered to children. Patients with mild kidney function impairment should reduce the dosage or increase the interval of administration and should have kidney function checked regularly. Close monitoring is required for patients with liver function abnormalities or fluctuating liver function test results, and regular liver function tests should be conducted. Skin-related side effects such as rashes, itching, hair loss, and photosensitivity reactions may occur. Neurological symptoms like dizziness, headache, and weakness may appear, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Muscle pain, muscle cramps, and elevated creatine kinase levels may occur, so if there are any abnormal symptoms related to the muscles, a doctor should be notified immediately. Because this medication can affect blood coagulation, patients taking anticoagulants should undergo frequent blood tests to reduce the risk of bleeding. During the use of this medication, blood lipid levels should be regularly tested to confirm treatment effectiveness; if there is no effect, administration should be discontinued. Liver function tests should also be conducted monthly after starting treatment, and if abnormalities are found, dosage adjustment or discontinuation may be necessary. This medication may interact with other drugs, so especially when taken with anticoagulants, specific cholesterol medications, or antidiabetic agents, a doctor should be consulted. In case of overdose, there is no antidote and the symptoms are not clear, so the prescribed dosage must be strictly adhered to. Store in a safe place out of reach of children, and avoid transferring to other containers. Elderly patients may have reduced liver and kidney function, so they should use this medication with greater caution and undergo regular kidney function tests. It is safest to avoid using this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
