Precautions

This medication contains pseudoephedrine, which may cause a rare but severe skin reaction called acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP). If symptoms like fever or red spots and small blisters appear on the skin while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. This medication should not be used by patients with known allergies to this drug or to ephedrine or piperazine derivatives, severe hypertension, coronary artery disease, those taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors, and patients with high intraocular pressure or difficulties in urination. Patients with diabetes, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, arrhythmias, or impaired renal or liver function should use this medication with caution and consult their doctor if they are taking other sympathomimetics, antidepressants, or cardiac medications. Side effects such as dry mouth, headache, insomnia, dizziness, nausea, anxiety, tremors, difficulty breathing, hallucinations, arrhythmias, hypotension, allergic reactions, etc., may occur. Especially due to the pseudoephedrine component, acute inflammation of the colon can occur, so if sudden severe abdominal pain or rectal bleeding occurs, discontinue use immediately. Watch for symptoms such as eye pain, blurred vision, glare, or dilated pupils. There is also a possibility of sexual dysfunction such as erectile dysfunction. Combining this medication with monoamine oxidase inhibitors can enhance sympathetic effects and pose risks, so a gap of at least 15 days before starting this medication is essential. Interactions may also occur when taken with other antihypertensives or cardiac medications, so be sure to inform your doctor. The safety for pregnant women is uncertain, and this drug can be excreted in breast milk and affect the baby, so it is recommended that nursing women avoid taking it. In case of overdose, severe arrhythmias, hypertension or hypotension, central nervous system problems, seizures, etc., may occur, requiring immediate medical attention and possibly gastrointestinal decontamination and professional drug treatment. Lastly, caution is needed while driving or operating dangerous machinery during the use of this medication.
