This medication helps alleviate symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, teariness, sore throat, and throbbing head caused by acute rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis. It makes daily activities more comfortable by easing various unpleasant symptoms you may experience. It is effective for the relief of these symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

One time for ages 15 and older: 24 mL Four times a day, after each meal and if necessary, before bedtime. Can be taken up to 6 times a day approximately every 4 hours as needed.

Child dose

Ages 11 to under 15: 16 mL Ages 7 to under 11: 12 mL Ages 3 to under 7: 8 mL Ages 2 to under 3: 6 mL Do not administer to children under 2 years of age

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by infants under 3 months of age. People who are taking or have recently discontinued specific antidepressants or antipsychotics known as MAO inhibitors within the last 2 weeks should also avoid this medication. While taking this medication, do not use other oral medications for rhinitis, cold medications containing antihistamines, cough suppressants and expectorants, motion sickness medications, allergy medications, and topical diphenhydramine products simultaneously. Children under 2 years of age should not take this medication except in special cases, and they must consult a doctor before use. Individuals with a tendency to have allergic reactions such as hives, dermatitis, migraines, or food allergies should consult a professional before taking this medication. Those who have experienced allergic symptoms such as fever, rash, joint pain, asthma, or itching due to medications should exercise caution. Patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney disease, edema, glaucoma, urinary difficulties, thyroid disease, diabetes, or those who are weak, have a high fever, or pregnant women or women who might become pregnant, nursing mothers, the elderly, and those currently under medical or dental treatment must consult a professional before taking this medication. Smokers, asthma or chronic bronchitis patients, emphysema patients, patients with excessive phlegm, those with persistent or recurrent coughs lasting over a week, or coughs accompanied by fever, rash, or persistent headaches should also take caution. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, severe thirst, constipation, loss of appetite, rash, itching, or urinary difficulties occur while taking the medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Rarely, severe side effects such as shock, hyperaldosteronism, or myopathy may occur, and should these symptoms appear, use must be stopped immediately. If symptoms do not improve after 5-6 doses, discontinue use and consult healthcare providers. This medication must be taken exactly as prescribed and should not be used for extended periods. When administered to children, supervision by an adult is necessary. Drowsiness may occur during use, so driving or operating machinery should be avoided, and alcohol should be avoided as well. Caution is advised when taking with medications containing potassium or licorice, as well as with certain diuretics due to the risk of side effects. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent misuse or quality degradation.
