Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have an allergic reaction to this medication or its components. It should be used with caution in patients with liver disease or a history of liver disease, as there is a risk of deteriorating liver function. If allergic symptoms such as skin rash, hives, swelling of the face or extremities occur while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor. This medication may occasionally cause neurological side effects such as drowsiness, fatigue, headache, dizziness, insomnia, nightmares, numbness, and a feeling of fogginess, so caution is advised. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, gastric discomfort, dry mouth, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and stomatitis may occur, so any unusual symptoms should be reported. It is important to regularly check liver function, as liver function test values may increase or jaundice symptoms may appear. Renal function abnormalities may occur rarely, so kidney status should be checked through urinalysis. Urological symptoms such as frequent urination, hematuria, and urinary retention may rarely occur, so inform the healthcare provider if unusual symptoms arise. Symptoms of rapid heart rate may occasionally appear, so caution is needed. Respiratory symptoms such as difficulty breathing, difficulty expectorating phlegm, and nasal congestion may occur rarely. Blood tests may show thrombocytopenia or leukocytosis, so regular blood tests are necessary. Gynecomastia, menstrual irregularities, and breast pain have been reported rarely, so consult a doctor if these symptoms occur. This medication is not a quick-relief medication for asthma attacks, so asthmatic patients should fully understand this point. Patients undergoing long-term steroid treatment should gradually taper off steroids under the guidance of healthcare personnel when taking this medication. Drowsiness may occur, so caution is needed when operating machinery or driving. If there is no effect, it is advisable not to take this medication for an extended period. Patients with seasonal allergies should start taking this medication before the season worsens and continue during the symptoms period. This medication is not known to significantly enhance the sedation effects when combined with other sedatives, antihistamines, or alcohol, but caution is advised due to limited experience with combinations. This medication has a very low potential for interaction with other medications metabolized in the liver, so it is expected to have minimal impact when taking other medications. Safety during pregnancy has not been established; therefore, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should take this medication cautiously after consulting a doctor. Breastfeeding women should avoid this medication if possible, as it may be transmitted through breast milk or stop breastfeeding while taking it. Safety for children, particularly low birth weight infants or newborns, has not been fully established, so caution is needed for use. Older adults may have decreased liver and kidney function, so it is important to check for adverse reactions frequently and adjust dosage as necessary. In case of suspected overdose, cardiac arrhythmias may occur, so an electrocardiogram should be performed immediately, and appropriate treatment such as gastric lavage or diuresis may be needed. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided to prevent quality deterioration or accident risks. Taking this medication on an empty stomach may increase blood concentration, so the method of consumption before or after meals should be followed according to the disease.
