How to take

Adult dose

Usually, for adults, take 1 packet (5 grams) three times a day before meals or between meals.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used by individuals other than those with a specific constitution known as Taeum type. This medicine contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or certain hereditary metabolic disorders should not take this medicine. Patients with hypertension or heart, kidney diseases, edema, and those taking other medications should use this medicine cautiously. Patients who have had liver disease or serious health issues in the past should also be careful when taking this medicine. Taking this medicine may result in symptoms such as reduced urine output, swelling of the face and hands/feet, eyelid heaviness, hand stiffness, increased blood pressure, and headaches. Especially, if the licorice component exceeds a certain amount during prolonged use, side effects such as hypokalemia, swelling, and weight gain may occur, so potassium levels in the blood should be checked regularly. Symptoms of neuromuscular disorders such as muscle weakness, limb spasms, and paralysis may appear due to hypokalemia, and if such symptoms occur, intake should be discontinued. If symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite, jaundice, nausea, vomiting, severe upper abdominal pain, or dark urine arise, which are suggestive of liver dysfunction, intake should be stopped immediately and consult with a specialist. Before taking this medication, it is essential to consult the currently treating physician or pharmacist and adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration. When administering to children, it should be done under the supervision of guardians, and it should not be used in infants under 1 year old. Long-term use should be avoided in principle, and if prolonged use is unavoidable, consultation with a specialist is necessary. When taken together with other herbal medicines, care should be taken to avoid overlapping herbal components. If symptoms do not improve even after taking this medicine for a certain period, it is important to consult a specialist. Caution is advised when taking potassium supplements, preparations containing licorice, or loop or thiazide diuretics together, as this may increase the risk of side effects. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medicine if the benefits outweigh the risks. Elderly individuals may have reduced physical function, so usage should be monitored carefully, and the dosage adjusted accordingly.
