Precautions

This medication works by binding to certain proteins and disrupting the bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby killing the bacteria. Before using this medication, be sure to inform if you have experienced severe allergic reactions or shock from this drug or similar antibiotics in the past. Also, if you are allergic to penicillin antibiotics, or if you have a constitution that easily manifests allergic symptoms such as asthma or skin rashes, this medication should be used with caution. Patients with severely reduced kidney function, the elderly, or those in poor nutritional status should be closely monitored due to the risk of bleeding from vitamin K deficiency. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis, should also be cautious when using this medication. This medication may rarely cause severe allergic reactions, skin disorders, blood abnormalities, liver and kidney dysfunction, gastrointestinal disturbances, respiratory issues, or neurological symptoms, and any unusual symptoms should be immediately reported to healthcare professionals. In particular, if severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, or difficulty breathing occurs, drug administration should be stopped, and appropriate treatment should be received. When using this medication, it is important to check the susceptibility of the infectious bacteria to prevent the emergence of resistant strains and to administer it only for the necessary minimum duration. Co-administration with other drugs may lead to interactions, so particularly if used with probenecid, kidney-affecting drugs, anticoagulants, oral contraceptives, etc., it should be done per expert's direction. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use this medication cautiously after discussing it with their healthcare provider, as its safety has not been fully established. This medication should be avoided in newborns under 1 month old, as its safety and efficacy have not been established. Elderly patients may experience side effects more easily due to decreased bodily functions, so dose adjustment and status monitoring are necessary. As this medication can affect test results, care should be taken when interpreting certain urine or blood test results during its use.
