This medication works by binding to specific proteins, interfering with bacterial cell wall synthesis, and killing bacteria. Patients who have experienced severe allergic reactions or shock in the past due to this medication should not use it. Additionally, individuals allergic to this medication or cephalosporin antibiotics should not administer it. This medication contains lactose; therefore, patients with genetically confirmed galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should avoid taking it. Individuals with a history of allergy to penicillin antibiotics or with asthma, skin rashes, or an allergic constitution should use this medication cautiously. Patients with significantly impaired kidney function, those who cannot take it orally, elderly patients, and those in poor general condition should be monitored closely for vitamin K deficiency symptoms. While taking this medication, rare adverse effects such as shock, anaphylaxis, skin rashes, blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, gastrointestinal disorders, pneumonia, and central nervous system abnormalities may occur, so consultation with healthcare professionals should be sought immediately if symptoms arise. To prevent the development of resistant bacteria, it is advisable to confirm susceptibility and use it only for the minimum required duration. There may be interactions when used with other antibiotics, particularly those that can affect the kidneys, so caution should be exercised when used in combination. Concomitant use with anticoagulants may increase the risk of bleeding, necessitating frequent blood tests to monitor the condition. Avoid contraceptive failures when taken with oral contraceptives by considering the use of alternative contraceptive methods. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should administer this medication cautiously after evaluating the benefits and risks associated with treatment, and breastfeeding mothers should also be cautious as small amounts may be secreted in breast milk. Safety and efficacy for newborns under one month have not been established. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more readily due to decreased physiological functions, and there is an increased risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, so dosing and intervals should be adjusted and used cautiously.
