This drug contains the artificial sweetener aspartame and should not be given to patients with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria. Care must be taken not to exceed the allowable daily intake of aspartame, particularly for adults weighing 60 kg, with a maximum of 2.4g per day. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or to beta-lactam antibiotics should not use it. Additionally, patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia may have an increased risk of rash when using this drug, and should avoid it. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice due to this drug or penicillin should not receive it. This drug is also not suitable for patients with genetic disorders affecting lactose digestion. Patients with liver or kidney dysfunction should use this drug cautiously, and in cases of significant kidney damage, the dosing interval should be extended. Patients with allergies, patients receiving parenteral nutrition, and elderly patients should also be monitored closely when using this drug. Patients experiencing severe gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea may not absorb the medication properly, and caution should be exercised with administration. If any symptoms like diarrhea, abdominal pain, or bloody stools occur while taking this drug, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. In the case of symptoms of liver dysfunction or severe skin rashes, respiratory distress or allergy symptoms, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. Long-term use may lead to the development of resistant bacteria, therefore it is advisable to use the drug for the required period only. It is recommended to regularly check liver, kidney function, and blood tests during treatment. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should only use this drug when the benefits outweigh the risks, particularly avoiding it in the first three months of pregnancy. Nursing women should be cautious as this drug can be passed to the baby through breast milk, which may lead to diarrhea or skin reactions. The safety for children, especially newborns or preterm infants under 2 months, has not been established, so consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary before use. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more easily due to declining physical function, thus dosage and intervals should be adjusted and closely monitored. While taking this drug, false positive reactions may appear in some urine tests, necessitating careful interpretation of test results. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain may occur, and in severe cases, kidney dysfunction or seizures may occur, so immediate medical assistance should be sought.
