This medication exhibits effective antibacterial action against a variety of bacteria. It is effective against several types of bacteria including Escherichia coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus. It is used to treat various infectious diseases such as respiratory infections, pneumonia, ear, nose and throat infections, bacterial prostatitis, urinary tract infections, gonococcal cervicitis and urethritis, gastrointestinal infections, and is also effective in treating bacterial infections in the skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, gynecological infections, and peritonitis. However, this medication is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that may be associated with serious adverse reactions, thus it should only be used when no alternative treatment exists for certain mild infections. Therefore, this medication is very useful for treating complex or severe bacterial infections and is used precisely to correspond to the patient's condition to improve symptoms.

How to take

Precautions

This medication may cause serious side effects such as tendonitis or tendon rupture and peripheral neuropathy, therefore it should be discontinued immediately if any abnormal symptoms occur. Patients with myasthenia gravis may experience exacerbation of symptoms if this medication is used, thus it should not be administered. It is advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, children and adolescents under 18 years old, and patients with epilepsy to avoid using this medication. Caution is required when this medication is used in elderly patients or those with impaired kidney function and patients with a history of seizures may require dose adjustments.
