Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to beta-lactam antibiotics such as penicillin or cephalosporins. In particular, patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at higher risk of rash, and use should be avoided. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice may experience recurrence of symptoms, so caution is needed when taking this medication. Patients with poor liver function should use this drug cautiously, as liver function may worsen after administration. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment may have the drug remaining in their body for an extended period, increasing the risk of side effects, so dosing intervals should be adjusted. Allergic patients or those with bronchial asthma should be closely monitored for potential allergic reactions. Patients who have difficulty swallowing or elderly patients, as well as those in poor general condition, may exhibit signs of vitamin K deficiency, so caution is advised. Patients with gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea may not absorb the medication adequately, so administration should be done with care. During treatment, if symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, or respiratory distress occur, the drug should be discontinued immediately and a physician consulted. Liver and kidney function, as well as blood test results, should be monitored regularly, and any abnormal reactions should be closely observed during long-term use. Administering this medication is not advisable during the first three months of pregnancy, and use in pregnant or nursing women should be approached cautiously under medical supervision. Safety has not been established for children, especially newborns under 2 months, so use should be avoided. Elderly individuals are at higher risk of side effects due to decreased bodily functions; therefore, dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted and carefully monitored. This medication may interact with other drugs, so any concurrent medications must be disclosed to healthcare providers. Before taking the drug, it should be sufficiently shaken to mix, and once dispensed, it should be stored in the refrigerator and used within 7 days. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, kidney failure, or allergic reactions may occur; thus, if symptoms develop, seek medical attention immediately. It is important to administer this drug only for the necessary duration to prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria. If diarrhea or severe abdominal cramps worsen during or after treatment, notify healthcare providers immediately as clostridium difficile colitis may be a concern. Candida infections of the mouth or vagina may occur due to antibiotic use, and appropriate treatment should be sought if symptoms arise. There may be a risk of bleeding tendencies due to vitamin K deficiency while taking this medication; consult a doctor immediately if bleeding symptoms occur.
