Precautions

This drug should not be administered to children and women. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not touch broken pieces of this drug, as this may pose a potential risk to male fetuses. During the use of this drug, changes in mood such as feelings of depression or suicidal thoughts may occur, so if any abnormal symptoms appear, it is essential to consult a medical professional immediately. Persons with allergies to this drug or its components, women, children, pregnant women, or women who may become pregnant should not use this medication. Additionally, patients with genetic problems such as lactose intolerance should avoid administration. Patients with liver dysfunction should use this drug cautiously. This drug is generally well tolerated, but sexual dysfunction-related side effects such as erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, ejaculation disorders, gynecomastia, tenderness, and rash may occur. It is important to inform healthcare professionals if these symptoms persist or worsen. There are reports of a possible risk of male breast cancer with long-term use, but the direct relationship with this drug is unclear. Also, some studies show a slightly increased risk of high-grade prostate cancer. This drug has minimal interactions with other medications and does not affect the CYP-450 enzyme system, making it relatively safe to use in combination with various drugs. It should not be administered to pregnant or nursing women, as taking it during pregnancy may cause abnormalities in male fetal external genitalia, requiring special caution. Safety and efficacy in children have not been established, so it is not used in this population. No dose adjustment is required for elderly patients, as similar efficacy and safety compared to younger patients have been reported. This drug reduces prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels by approximately 50%, so this should be considered when interpreting PSA tests. If PSA levels increase, multiple causes, including treatment adherence, should be carefully evaluated. There is no specific treatment for overdose, and serious adverse reactions have not been reported even with high-dose administration. This drug should be stored out of reach of children, and care should be taken not to transfer it to another container, as this may negatively affect its quality.
