This medication helps alleviate symptoms of estrogen deficiency caused by natural or surgical menopause. Dosage
Tablets: Administer 1 or 2 mg of estradiol orally once daily without interruption. If side effects occur at a dose of 2 mg, reduce to 1 mg. Gel: 0.6 mg/g - 1 compression amount yields 0.75 mg of estradiol (gel 1.25 g), for a total of 1.5 mg/day (2 compression amounts) administered for 24 to 28 days. Precautions
This drug may increase the risk of endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial cancer in women after menopause. Women who have not undergone a hysterectomy are advised to take progestin according to a doctor's instructions to reduce the risk of endometrial cancer when using this drug. Regular check-ups are recommended for prolonged use of this drug. Long-term use (over 5 years) can slightly increase the risk of breast cancer, so regular breast examinations and self-checks are necessary. Patients with a history of breast cancer or bone metastatic disease may experience serious side effects such as hypercalcemia, and should discontinue use and seek appropriate treatment. Women with breast cancer, endometrial cancer, liver disease, thrombosis, cardiovascular diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, and nursing mothers should not use this drug. Additionally, patients allergic to this drug or its components should avoid using it. This drug should be used with caution in patients with a history of uterine fibroids, endometriosis, hypertension, diabetes, liver disease, migraines, systemic lupus erythematosus, epilepsy, and asthma, and requires close observation and examination by a physician before and after treatment. During the use of this drug, if symptoms such as decreased liver function, jaundice, increased blood pressure, headaches, or abnormal bleeding occur, immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary. The use of this drug may need to be suspended for a period before and after surgery to prevent thromboembolism, so inform the doctor if surgery is planned. This drug may cause various side effects including headaches, breast pain, abdominal pain, edema, nausea, skin rash, and in rare cases, serious side effects such as thrombosis, stroke, dementia, and gallstones. Since this drug is metabolized in the liver, its effectiveness may decrease or side effects may increase when used with certain medications, so inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medications. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this drug, and should discontinue use immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. This drug should be stored out of reach of children and in its original container at room temperature below 25 degrees Celsius; do not refrigerate. When applying this drug to the skin, apply only to clean areas, avoid contact with the eyes or mucous membranes, and wash hands thoroughly after application to prevent transfer to others, especially children or males. This drug is not a contraceptive, so separate contraceptive methods should be used to prevent pregnancy.
