This medication is used for peptic ulcer diseases such as gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, and anastomotic ulcers. It is also effective in improving symptoms of upper gastrointestinal bleeding, acute stress ulcers, and bleeding due to hemorrhagic gastritis. It is utilized in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and helps reduce gastric mucosal lesions that occur during acute exacerbations of acute and chronic gastritis. This drug alleviates inflammatory symptoms such as erosion, bleeding, redness, and swelling of the gastric mucosa and aids in restoring gastric health. Therefore, it is used effectively to improve symptoms of gastrointestinal diseases.

Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, and patients with the hereditary condition phenylketonuria should not take it. The daily intake of aspartame should be controlled to not exceed the recommended limit of 40mg/kg by the WHO, and for a 60kg adult, it should not exceed a maximum of 2.4g per day. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or similar drugs should not take this product. Patients with a history of allergies, impaired kidney or liver function, heart disease, and elderly patients should be particularly cautious when using this medication. While taking this medication, severe allergic reactions, blood disorders, serious abnormal symptoms in the skin or mucous membranes, liver dysfunction, muscle damage, cardiac rhythm abnormalities, changes in consciousness, kidney issues, pneumonia, and other serious side effects may occur, so symptoms should be closely monitored, and immediately discontinue use and seek medical treatment if abnormalities occur. Common side effects may include skin rashes, indigestion, changes in blood pressure, headaches, drowsiness, insomnia, depression, and myalgia, and if these symptoms occur, consult a physician. Regularly check the therapeutic effect and side effects, and use the minimum effective dose; if ineffective, consider switching to other treatment methods. This medication is to be taken as a dissolving tablet in the mouth, but it is not absorbed through the oral mucosa; it must be swallowed with saliva or water. If patients undergoing hemodialysis take this medication with certain phosphate binders, the effectiveness of the phosphate binders may decrease, so caution is required. The efficacy of this medication may be reduced when taken with some antifungal drugs or certain anticancer agents, so be sure to inform about other medications being taken. Elderly patients may require dosage adjustment or frequency modification due to decreased kidney function leading to increased medication concentration. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should take this medication only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, and nursing mothers should discontinue breastfeeding while using this medication. Safety in children has not been sufficiently established, so its use is not recommended. For orally disintegrating tablet form, place it on the tongue and dissolve it with saliva before swallowing, and it should not be taken while lying down without water. This medication can mask symptoms of gastric cancer, so it is safest to use it only after confirming the absence of malignant tumors.
