Precautions

This medication contains two components, Budesonide and Formoterol, which are inhaled. This medication should not be used by individuals allergic to Budesonide, Formoterol, or lactose used in inhaled products, or in children under 6 years of age. Patients who have previously received systemic steroid treatment and are suspected to have adrenal insufficiency should use this medication with extra caution. Using this medication may result in symptoms such as tremors or palpitations, which are common side effects of the components and are generally mild, resolving within a few days. Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease need to be cautious as there may be a risk of skin bruising or pneumonia. This medication may cause various side effects including palpitations, tachycardia, nausea, headache, cough, hoarseness, oral candidiasis (fungal infection in the mouth), etc. Particularly when high doses are used over the long term, systemic side effects such as adrenal insufficiency, growth retardation, decreased bone density, cataracts, and glaucoma can occur. This medication should not be suddenly discontinued but rather should be gradually reduced in dosage according to a doctor’s instructions. If asthma or pulmonary disease symptoms worsen, immediate consultation with medical personnel is required. This medication may also be effective in preventing bronchospasm caused by exercise or allergic reactions, so it should be used as appropriate for symptoms. When using this medication, it is important to consistently inhale as prescribed by a doctor, and continue maintenance therapy even if symptoms are absent. This medication can interact with other drugs, so it is essential to inform medical personnel, especially when used with beta-blockers or specific antifungal agents. If pregnant or breastfeeding, this medication should only be used cautiously at the minimum effective dose when necessary, and after consulting with a doctor. In children, growth status should be regularly monitored, and if growth retardation is suspected, the treatment method should be re-evaluated. In the case of overdose, symptoms such as tremors, headache, palpitations, hyperglycemia, hypokalemia, etc., may occur, so if any abnormal symptoms arise, immediate consultation with medical personnel is required. When using this medication, rinse the mouth with water after inhalation to reduce the risk of oral candidiasis, and keep the inhaler clean. During inhalation, it is important to inhale deeply and avoid exhaling into the inhaler, and to close the inhaler properly after use. This medication does not affect driving or machinery operation capability; however, symptoms can vary by individual, so caution is necessary. Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease should be alert to changes in symptoms due to increased risk of pneumonia.
