This medication is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 60 mg orally once daily as Raloxifene Hydrochloride.

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of venous thromboembolism, which occurs when blood clots in the veins block blood vessels. If limited movement occurs while taking this medication, it should be stopped, and may be restarted once symptoms improve. Caution is required in patients with impaired liver function as the concentration of this medication may increase, and regular monitoring of liver function test results is necessary. Use is not recommended in premenopausal women. It should not be used for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and should be administered cautiously in patients at risk of stroke. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding should not take this medication as it could be harmful to the fetus or infant. Patients with a history of thrombosis, liver disease, uterine bleeding, or endometrial cancer should avoid this medication. Patients with high triglycerides or impaired kidney function should use this medication carefully. During treatment, facial flushing, leg cramps, peripheral edema, and cold-like symptoms may occur. Some medications may interact with this medication, so patients should inform their healthcare provider of any other medications they are taking. This medication is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and is not intended for men or children. Overdosage may cause symptoms such as dizziness or leg cramps, so caution should be exercised. Store out of reach of children and do not transfer to other containers for safety.
