Precautions

This medication contains beta-lactam antibiotics and should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to this ingredient or penicillin antibiotics. Special caution is needed for those with a history of severe allergic reactions, such as anaphylaxis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, or shock. Additionally, patients with concomitant viral diseases such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia should avoid this medication due to an increased risk of rash. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice due to this medication or penicillin antibiotics should not use it, as the risk of recurrence is present. Caution is also advised for patients with impaired liver function or severe kidney disease, as the medication may remain in the body longer, increasing the risk of side effects. Individuals with allergic tendencies or those frequently experiencing symptoms such as asthma, skin rash, or hives should be especially careful when using this medication. Patients who have difficulty taking oral medication, elderly individuals in poor nutritional states, and those with digestive diseases may also be affected in terms of drug absorption and efficacy, necessitating caution. This medication may cause gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain; in severe cases, serious conditions like pseudomembranous colitis may occur, requiring immediate cessation of use if symptoms worsen. Symptoms of liver dysfunction have also been reported, and regular liver function tests should be conducted during or after discontinuation of treatment, especially with long-term use exceeding 14 days due to increased side effect risks. Rarely, skin rash, anaphylaxis, blood abnormalities, renal impairment, and central nervous system adverse effects may also occur, necessitating immediate medical attention if any abnormal symptoms arise. The use of antibiotics may disrupt the balance of intestinal flora, leading to other infections, thus caution is necessary during prolonged use. This medication may interact with other drugs; therefore, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is required, particularly when used in conjunction with anticoagulants, certain antibiotics, or anti-inflammatory drugs. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should cautiously use this medication as the safety for the fetus or infant has not been fully established, and must consult with their physician. Special care is needed for children and the elderly, particularly for elderly patients with impaired renal function, as they may have an increased tendency for bleeding, making dosage adjustments and monitoring important. In the event of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, kidney damage, and seizures may occur, requiring immediate contact with a medical facility for appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored in a closed container to prevent moisture in a cool, dry place between 1 and 25 degrees Celsius. It is critical to verify past allergic history and current health status before use.
