Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. First, it is not administered to patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or similar types of drugs. Also, it is not used in children under the age of 12, as safety has not been established. This medication contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with a genetic disorder that affects lactose digestion. Patients with severe liver or renal dysfunction should use this medication with caution. Patients with specific diseases or histories, such as orthostatic hypotension, syncope, myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular disease, angina, peptic ulcer, alcohol dependence, or diabetes, should also be careful. While taking this medication, a variety of side effects may occur, ranging from mild dizziness to severe syncope. Particularly, dizziness or fainting may occur when starting treatment or suddenly increasing the dosage, so caution is advised. Mental depression or increased sensitivity may occur, as well as symptoms such as headache, fatigue, drowsiness, and dry mouth. Cardiovascular abnormalities, such as increased heart rate or low blood pressure, have also been reported. Liver function test values may temporarily increase, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as indigestion, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may occur. Respiratory symptoms such as nasal congestion, cough, and pharyngitis, as well as urination problems, may also be experienced. If allergic reactions, such as skin rashes, occur, use should be stopped immediately. During treatment, dangerous activities such as working at heights or driving should be avoided due to dizziness or drowsiness. When getting up from a lying position, move slowly to prevent dizziness or fainting. This medication helps alleviate symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia, but it is important to confirm the presence of prostate cancer beforehand. Patients scheduled for cataract surgery should inform their doctor in advance, as issues related to the iris may occur during the surgery. There are few special interactions when taking this medication with other drugs, but caution is needed when used with antihypertensives, as blood pressure may drop too low. Women who are pregnant or potentially pregnant should use this medication cautiously, and it is recommended to avoid it while breastfeeding if possible. It is preferable not to use this medication in children, as safety and efficacy have not been established. For elderly patients, starting with a lower dose and observing the condition is necessary to prevent dangerously low blood pressure. In case of overdose, severe hypotension may occur, and immediate medical assistance should be sought for appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers for safety.
