Cyphon Capsule (Baenongsan-geubtang)

Adult dose

Typically, an adult takes 2 capsules three times a day before or between meals.

This medication contains lactose, and should not be used by patients with genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with local symptoms like redness, swelling, and pain, along with systemic symptoms such as headaches, chills, or fever, or chronic abscess patients without fever should not take this medication. Patients with hypertension, heart or kidney disease, those with edema, patients taking other medications, the elderly, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Patients who have previously experienced skin rashes, congestion, or itching due to medication, as well as children, should consult a healthcare professional before using this medication. This medication contains the dyes Yellow No. 4 and Yellow No. 5, thus individuals with allergies or hypersensitivity to these components should exercise caution when taking it. If symptoms such as reduced urine output, swelling of the face and extremities, increased blood pressure, headaches, fatigue, or limb spasms occur during treatment, the medication should be stopped immediately and the patient should consult a healthcare professional. If symptoms do not improve even after 5 to 6 days of use or if symptoms worsen, treatment should be stopped and consultation should be sought. Long-term use should be avoided as a general rule; however, if long-term use is necessary, it should be done under the guidance of a healthcare professional. The prescribed dosage and method of administration must be strictly followed, and caution should be exercised when taking potassium-containing preparations, licorice-containing medicines, or certain diuretics, as they may increase the risk of hypokalemia or muscle abnormalities. When using this medication alongside other traditional herbal medicines, it is important to check that there are no overlapping components. This medication should be stored in a cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture, out of reach of children. Additionally, it should be kept in its original container with the lid tightly closed, as transferring it to another container may lead to misuse or degradation of quality.
