Precautions

This medication is a penicillin-type antibiotic and should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to beta-lactam drugs. Those with a history of anaphylaxis or severe skin reactions should avoid this medication as it can be dangerous. In cases of concurrent viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, there is a higher risk of rash, and it is advisable to avoid this medication. Patients with liver function issues should be cautious as liver function may worsen with this medication. Patients with moderate or severe kidney impairment may have increased drug concentrations, necessitating dosage adjustments. Individuals with allergies or family history should consult a doctor before taking this medication. Patients who have difficulty with oral intake, elderly patients, and those in poor general condition should use this medication with caution due to the risk of bleeding associated with vitamin K deficiency. In cases of gastrointestinal diseases or severe vomiting and diarrhea, this medication may not absorb well. Gastrointestinal symptoms including diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur, and in rare cases, serious colitis such as pseudomembranous colitis may develop, requiring immediate consultation with a healthcare provider. Liver function abnormalities may also occur, so regular liver function tests should be conducted during long-term use. Skin rashes, itching, and in severe cases, serious skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, necessitating immediate discontinuation of the medication. Rare instances of blood tests showing leukopenia or anemia, thrombocytopenia have been reported, so testing should be done if any abnormal symptoms present. Central nervous system abnormalities such as anxiety, confusion, and seizures can rarely occur; immediate notification to healthcare personnel is required if these symptoms arise. Kidney function may decline rapidly, hence regular kidney function tests should be performed and medication should be discontinued if issues are found. Antibiotic use can lead to fungal infections such as oral candidiasis; therefore, attention to oral hygiene is necessary. There may be a tendency for bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, so immediate notification to healthcare personnel should be made if bleeding symptoms arise. This medication has many interactions with other drugs, so it is crucial to inform your doctor or pharmacist about any medications being taken. Avoid use in early pregnancy, and for pregnant or breastfeeding women, careful use should be under the discretion of a doctor. Children and the elderly require special attention, particularly elderly individuals who are at higher risk for bleeding. Overdose may result in gastrointestinal disturbances, kidney dysfunction, and allergic reactions, so immediate medical attention is necessary in such cases. Store this medication in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius and ensure it is taken exactly as directed by a doctor.
