Adult dose
As terbinafine, administer 125 mg once, twice daily, or 250 mg once daily. The duration of treatment according to the condition is as follows: 1) Dermatophytoses - Tinea pedis (interdigital type, plantar type/mocha type): 2-6 weeks - Tinea corporis: 2-4 weeks - Tinea cruris (groin): 2-4 weeks 2) Onychomycosis - Usually treated for 6 weeks to 3 months. - For infections on fingernails or relatively small toes, or in young patients, the treatment duration may be shortened to less than 3 months. The treatment duration for toenail infections is usually sufficient at 3 months, though in some patients it may take 6 months or longer. In patients with slow toenail growth, the treatment duration may be prolonged.
Child dose
Administer to children over 2 years of age. Tinea capitis: 4 weeks 1) For children weighing less than 20 kg (under 5 years): Administer 62.5 mg once daily. - Due to insufficient treatment experience, consider the benefits of treatment.

This medication is used to treat fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes, such as athlete's foot, tinea corporis, and tinea cruris in adults and tinea capitis in children. It is thus effective for various skin and nail fungal infections.

How to take

Adult dose

As terbinafine, administer 125 mg once, twice daily, or 250 mg once daily. Precautions

This medication is not recommended for patients with chronic liver disease or active liver disease. Liver function tests must be performed prior to administration and regularly monitored during treatment. If any symptoms of liver dysfunction occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. This medication should not be used in patients with blood disorders or severe renal impairment, infants under 2 years of age, or nursing mothers. In particular, patients with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance should not receive this medication. Use with caution in elderly patients, patients with impaired kidney function, and children with low body weight. Discontinue use immediately if skin rashes or severe skin reactions occur. This medication may cause various side effects such as liver damage, blood disorders, skin reactions, gastrointestinal disturbances, and neurological symptoms, thus careful observation is required. Caution should be taken when driving or operating machinery if experiencing dizziness or other symptoms. Interactions with other medications may occur, so inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medications you are taking. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should discuss with their physician before use, and nursing mothers should discontinue breastfeeding. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept at room temperature away from direct sunlight.

Serious side effects

Liver failure, hepatitis, cholestasis, jaundice, neutropenia, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, erythema multiforme, toxic skin eruptions, exfoliative dermatitis, bullous dermatitis, rhabdomyolysis, hypotension, respiratory distress, chest tightness, hives, severe swelling (edema), anaphylaxis (angioedema), severe allergic reactions.

Mild side effects

Rash, skin itching, fever, nausea, vomiting, appetite loss, fatigue, musculoskeletal responses (arthralgia, myalgia), myalgia, weakness, increased CPK, elevated myoglobin in blood and urine, gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal distension, decreased appetite, indigestion, diarrhea), discomfort in the stomach, thirst, glossitis, depression, anxiety, headache, taste disturbances, dizziness, drowsiness, sensory disturbances, decreased sensation, decreased attention, insomnia, increased BUN, anemia.

Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.

Storage

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to prevent air exposure, ideally at a temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Doing so will help maintain the efficacy of the medication and ensure its safe use.
