For recurrent tonsillitis and other upper respiratory infections, lower respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and mild to moderate skin and soft tissue infections, the usual dose is 25 mg/3.6 mg of Amoxicillin/Clavulanate Potassium per kg of body weight, divided into 2 doses per day. For severe infections such as otitis media, sinusitis, bronchopneumonia, and urinary tract infections, the usual dose is 45 mg/6.4 mg of Amoxicillin/Clavulanate Potassium per kg of body weight, divided into 2 doses per day.
Child dose
The 7:1 syrup is not suitable for children under 2 months of age. Pediatric patients with renal failure are not suitable for the 7:1 syrup.

This medication is effective against various bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae and is used to treat respiratory diseases such as acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, empyema, tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media. It is also effective for urinary tract infections such as cystitis, urethritis, and pyelonephritis, as well as pelvic infections and sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea. It is helpful in treating a wide range of bacterial infections including skin and soft tissue infections, wound infections, osteomyelitis, and dental infections. Thus, it is used as an antibiotic that is effective against various bacteria for the treatment of infections.

How to take

Adult dose

Precautions

This medication contains an artificial sweetener called aspartame, and should be limited in patients with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria. This medication should not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to its ingredients or beta-lactam antibiotics, patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, and patients with a history of liver dysfunction. Patients with impaired liver function or moderate to severe kidney dysfunction, patients with allergic constitution, patients who have difficulty with oral intake, elderly patients, and patients with gastrointestinal diseases should use this medication with caution. During use, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may appear, and in severe cases, serious conditions such as pseudomembranous colitis may occur, so if symptoms worsen, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and medical attention should be sought. Symptoms of liver dysfunction may appear rarely, especially in patients over 60 or those on long-term use, so regular liver function tests are recommended. Allergic reactions such as skin rashes, itching, and shortness of breath may occur, so if these symptoms appear, the medication should be discontinued immediately and medical consultation should be sought. Abnormalities such as leukopenia or thrombocytopenia may rarely be reported in blood tests, so blood status should be monitored periodically during long-term use. The safety of this medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been sufficiently confirmed, so it should be avoided particularly during the first three months of pregnancy, and breastfeeding mothers should be cautious due to potential side effects in the baby. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if taking other medications, patients must inform their doctor or pharmacist, particularly with regard to anticoagulants or other antibiotics. In case of overdose, symptoms such as gastrointestinal symptoms, kidney dysfunction, and seizures may occur, so immediate medical attention is required. This medication must be stored in a sealed container as it can be sensitive to air and moisture. It should be kept in a cool place at temperatures between 1 and 25 degrees Celsius and used within 7 days after preparation, shaking well before use.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe allergic reactions, high fever with severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, severe skin adverse reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory difficulties accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, liver dysfunction (jaundice), sudden and severe reactions

Mild side effects

Diarrhea, pseudomembranous colitis, indigestion, stomatitis, gastritis, glossitis, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, constipation, colonic pain, hyperacidity, soft stools, dry mouth, candidiasis, antibiotic-associated colitis, colitis with bloody stools, itching, erythema multiforme, dermatitis, mucous membrane syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, bullous exfoliative dermatitis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, eosinophilia, angioedema, serum sickness syndrome, hypersensitivity
