Precautions

This medicine can disrupt the normal bacterial balance in the mouth, so it is important not to use it for extended periods. People who have experienced allergic reactions to this drug should not use it. If you have asthma or allergic diseases, or a family history of such, caution is advised when using this drug. During use, discoloration of teeth or inside the mouth may occur, and calculus may increase on the gums, and there may be changes in sensation inside the mouth. Particularly in children, the oral mucosa may peel off or become irritated. Rarely, a severe allergic reaction (shock) may occur, so if symptoms such as nausea, discomfort, cold sweat, dizziness, or shortness of breath arise, stop using it immediately and inform a healthcare professional. If a skin rash or hives appear, use of this drug should be stopped, as severe allergic reactions may develop. Temporary inflammation of the salivary glands may occur, so any abnormal symptoms should be observed carefully. For general bacterial infections, antibiotics are more appropriate than this drug, and the duration of use should typically not exceed 10 days. In patients with both gingivitis and periodontitis, the treatment effect of periodontitis should not be assessed solely based on the state of gingivitis after using this drug. The use of this drug may cause staining of teeth, prostheses, or the back of the tongue, so caution is advised during use. Especially for individuals wearing rough or gap-filled prostheses, there may be a need to replace the prosthesis due to staining, so careful use is advised, and if staining is undesirable, it is better not to use it. During pregnancy, it should only be used when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, and for breastfeeding, it is not clearly known whether this drug passes into breast milk, so careful use is required. Safety and efficacy in children under 18 years of age have not been sufficiently established, so caution is necessary in use. This drug should be used only in the mouth and must not be swallowed. After use, store out of reach of children, avoiding direct sunlight, and in cool and dry places.
