Precautions

This medicine contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is broken down into phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, it should not be used in patients with phenylketonuria, a hereditary disease that restricts the intake of phenylalanine. Patients who have experienced severe allergic reactions or shock in the past should not take this medicine. This medicine also contains lactose, so it should not be given to patients with hereditary issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with a history of allergies or hypersensitivity to this medicine's ingredients or similar antibiotics should use this medicine cautiously, except in special cases. Particular caution is needed for those allergic to penicillin antibiotics, those with a family history of allergic symptoms such as bronchial asthma or urticaria, patients with severely impaired kidney function, those who have difficulty taking oral medications, the elderly, and those in poor overall health. While taking this medicine, rare occurrences of severe allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur, so if symptoms such as dizziness, oral discomfort, wheezing, or sweating occur, the administration should be stopped immediately, and a healthcare provider should be consulted. If hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, urticaria, itching, or fever occur, the medication should be discontinued, and appropriate treatment should be obtained. Gastrointestinal disturbances such as pseudomembranous colitis, severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, etc., can occur rarely, so if symptoms arise, medication should be stopped immediately. If respiratory symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough, or fever arise, prompt medical attention is needed. A complete blood count may show eosinophilia or thrombocytopenia, so regular blood tests are necessary for long-term use. If kidney function is decreased, cognitive impairment or seizures may occur, so dosage adjustment is essential. Since serious adverse reactions may appear on the skin, if symptoms like Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis develop, the medication should be stopped immediately. Regular monitoring for signs of liver dysfunction or decreased kidney function is also necessary, as well as careful observation for signs of infections such as stomatitis or candidiasis. This medicine should only be used for the minimum period necessary to prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria, and sufficient inquiries and skin reaction tests should be performed prior to administration. Caution should be observed while driving or operating machinery, as dizziness may occur. If used in conjunction with diuretics or aminoglycoside antibiotics, it may burden kidney function, so caution is advised. Additionally, there may be interactions with other gastrointestinal drugs, so careful consideration of the dosing method is required. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication only if the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. It is recommended to discontinue breastfeeding if using this medication during lactation. Pediatric patients, especially newborns or premature infants and infants under 2 months of age, require caution as safety has not been fully established. Elderly patients, due to decreased physical function, may show adverse reactions more easily, so dosage adjustment and condition monitoring are important. The risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency should also be considered. Some clinical test results may be affected by this medication, so this should be taken into account during testing. For the syrup form, it should be stored in a tightly closed container to prevent air or moisture ingress. It is best to store at room temperature between 1°C and 30°C and to use within 2 weeks after preparation. Before administration, it should be shaken well to ensure uniform mixing.
