Precautions

This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as the rhubarb ingredient may cause uterine contractions or increase blood flow to the pelvic organs, raising the risk of miscarriage or preterm labor. Additionally, nursing women should also refrain from taking this medicine, as components in rhubarb can be transmitted through breast milk to the baby, potentially causing diarrhea, thus medication should either be avoided during breastfeeding or breastfeeding should be suspended. This medication contains lactose; therefore, individuals with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance or galactosemia should not take it. Patients with high blood pressure, elderly patients, those with weakened heart or kidney function, and patients with edema should consult a specialist before taking this medication. Especially the elderly may require dose adjustments due to decreased bodily function. Those taking other medications or experiencing symptoms such as diarrhea, gastrointestinal weakness, loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting should consult a specialist as well. Individuals with a history of allergy reactions like rashes or itching from medications should take caution when taking this medication. If symptoms such as decreased urination, swelling of the face or extremities, increased blood pressure, headaches, muscle weakness, or cramps occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. Discontinue use and seek advice if symptoms such as loss of appetite, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or skin rashes occur. If symptoms do not improve after taking the medication for 5~6 days, stop taking it and consult a specialist. Always adhere to the prescribed method and dosage when taking this medication, as the efficacy of the rhubarb ingredient may vary for individuals. As it is a stimulant laxative, prolonged use beyond one week may lead to tolerance or worsen constipation, hence long-term use should be avoided. When taking other herbal medicines or drugs, check for overlapping ingredients and take caution, especially when combined with drugs containing potassium or licorice; there could be the risk of hypokalemia or muscle issues, so please be prudent. As a principle, this medication should not be taken for extended periods; if unavoidable, consult with a healthcare professional in advance. When storing, keep out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry place, and ensure it is out of the reach of children. Also, do not remove the medication from its original container into another; always keep it sealed to maintain the quality of the medicine.
