This medicine should not be used in patients with inflammation or fever, those who have been coughing dry for a long time due to weakness, or those who are coughing up blood. Since this medicine contains lactose, patients with genetic disorders that impede lactose digestion should not take it. Children in poor nutritional status or patients with phlegm-heat syndrome should use this medicine cautiously. Be cautious, as the ingredient glycyrrhizin when taken in excess of the maximum daily amount over a long period may lead to low potassium levels in the blood, elevated blood pressure, and symptoms such as swelling and weight gain. Moreover, side effects such as dryness of the mouth or distortion of the tongue may occur. It is advisable not to use this medicine in conjunction with medications that contain the specific ingredients Pinellia and Atractylodes. When storing, it is essential to keep it in a closed container away from direct sunlight in a cool and dry place, and it is important not to transfer it to another container to maintain quality. Patients with high blood pressure, elderly individuals, those with heart or kidney problems, those exhibiting swelling symptoms, and those currently receiving medical treatment should definitely consult with a specialist before taking this medication. If urine output decreases or if there is swelling in the face, hands, and feet, heaviness in the eyelids, stiffness in the hands, elevated blood pressure, or headaches during treatment, immediately discontinue use and consult a specialist. For long-term use, potassium levels in the blood should be monitored regularly, and if any issues arise, medication should be discontinued. If symptoms such as muscle weakness, limb cramps, or paralysis occur, stop taking the medicine immediately and consult a specialist. Additionally, caution should be exercised as the risk of side effects may increase if taken with potassium supplements, licorice ingredients, or certain diuretics.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
